I’m a freelance interpreter with one year of experience in medical consulation. I used to work at New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc. as a teaching assitant for the SAT preparation class. I am passionate when working independently, but also enjoy collaborating with others and learn from them. I am productive and efficient at work. I have great time management skills and good at communicate with people. From my working experience, I learned that it’s vital to put respect and manner at the first place, be patience and humble anytime, always think thouroughly before speak it out.
I was born in a translator family and grew up with languages. My grandfather Xilin Ou is a great Japanese translator and interpreter. Under his training and education, I learned languages from a young age and be able to understand four languages. I can speak Chinese, English, German and Japanese. I enjoy studying languages and be proud of the language skills that I had. In daily life, I guess I’m a polite and gentle person, my friends always laugh at me that I’m too calm to anything and it seems there’s nothing that can easily make me mad. I’m positive and energetic, I love communicate with people at meet new friends.
I am a native Chinese speaker with 15 years of English learning experience and 12 years of German learning experience. I can listen and speak in Japanese but can not read and write because my grandfather has passed in a suddenly way and make me didn’t have the luck to systematically study Japanese from him. I worked as German tutor, freelance translator and bilingual content editor.
I am a member of Delta Phi Alpha, the sole post-secondary national honorary society for German studies in the United States. Great appreciate to my academic experience in international relations and German at Syracuse University during my college years and the invitation from my German Professor Frau Eikel-Pohen.
I love language and this industry, I wish I could try my best to be the new blood and add more energy to this industry.
